Science & Technology

St Mary and St Joseph’s Catholic Church Hall, Horsecroft Road, Boxmoor
Last Wednesday, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

All members of our U3A are welcome to these meetings. No previous scientific knowledge is necessary, just a curiosity about what is currently happening in our ever-changing world. If you have queries about any of the topics please call one of the coordinators. In January we attracted one of our biggest ever audiences ever with a fascinating talk on the Surveillance Society and what the large internet/social media companies get up to with all our data.

March 25: John Cameron: The History of Rockets

April 29: Robert Moore & Bryan Donkin: first paper making machine, and first commercial canning factory

May 27: Stephen Bown: Cancer treatment

June 24: Tom Aldridge: Soil mechanics
