Occasional outdoors or Zoom meetings. Check Group News emails for details or email coordinator.
Primarily aimed at those who have a camera (digital SLR or a compact with a fixed lens) though we do cover smartphones from time to time.
Our group meet once a month to discuss and show images and share in the art of image making.
Our programmes vary, tackling different topics each month and always showing members pictures.
It is interesting to note that while many images are from mobile phones now modern cameras have moved on so much with some mind boggling features. A few still like to shoot on film and a lab in Luton will process, scan and print.
Some sessions are devoted to image processing and enhancing images on the computer however the most recent topics were from extremes.
Terry recently demonstrated using AI on your mobile phone to knock out unwanted background details which highlighted where image technology is going these days.
In contrast to this John talked about the times as a Professional taking pictures before Digital and featured large format plate cameras which take transparencies up to 10 x 8 inches all coupled with some stories of how he had to interpret a designers brief.
Our members’ pictures themes each month give the opportunity for all members to contribute. Recent themes have been ‘Unusual Views’, ‘Reflections’, ‘Water’ and the latest ‘Shadows’ some of which are featured on the back page.

See the Digest for contact details.
