Are you thinking of starting to research your family history or are you already experienced but want to hear what others do?
Then we are the group for you.

Family History research is fascinating, absorbing and frustrating all at the same time. However, the discoveries made, open a world of interesting facts and details about our ancestors we may not have previously known.
Berkhamsted Genealogy Group welcome new members irrespective of experience or knowledge. The purpose of the group is to listen and help all members to investigate their families’ histories, however we must stress that we do not “do” your family tree for you

The principle of U3A is one of “self help learning”, so if you are starting out and need advice or guidance, we will help and guide you.

Some of our members have been studying their families for decades and draw upon a wealth of knowledge and experience, all of which they are happy to share.

Meetings take place every second Monday of each month and run for approx. 2 hours starting at 14.00 hours.
During the winter months we meet via Zoom; from April through to October we meet at the Northchurch Community Centre, Bell Lane, Northchurch.

Each meeting is different, members will talk to us about what research they have uncovered and how they did this and we all discuss ways and opportunities of discovering more.

Throughout the year we invite external speakers to provide a presentation to us. Topics vary widely but all relate to Genealogy and are fascinating in their own way. Mostly, these are held on Zoom.
