The invitation below is from the U3A Dinghy Sailing group based at Chess Valley U3A.
The u3a Dinghy Sailing Group, under the under the aegis of Rickmansworth Sailing Club normally meets on the second Tuesday and fourth Wednesday of the month (1pm – 5pm) from April until the end of October (but please note variations). The venue is Troy Lake, West Hyde (between Maple Cross and Denham). Members from several different U3A groups come together to sail and socialise. We sail in Rickmansworth Sailing Club’s boats which include a Wayfarer, a Wanderer, Lasers, Picos, an RS Vision and a Comet Versa.

The cost to accredited U3A members is £10.00 per sailing session, which covers insurance, upkeep of the dinghies and safety boat, and refreshments. We provide personal flotation devices, so all you need is warm clothing and a sense of adventure!
No previous experience is necessary, but we do ask that you can swim at least 10 metres. We organise Capsize Drill at least once each season. New members are welcome and tuition will be given where necessary, so all abilities are catered for.
