We were started by John Eaton, a retired professional magician, a member of the Zodiac Magical Society for some 58 years, and a Member of the prestigious Magic Circle.
He specialised in close-up magic, working Restaurants, Weddings, Private Parties etc. One of the highlights of his career was performing at St. James Palace for a charity called ‘The NotForgotten’, whom he entertained at their Christmas parties for twelve years, and was presented to Princess Anne.
Nowadays, Mike Sapsard is the coordinator, and Keith Harrison takes the technical lead. We do all kinds of magic, from cards, through ropes, silks, coins, cups and balls, sleight of hand and even model balloons. If you would like to learn, practise, entertain or enjoy magic, this is a good place to have a laugh.
We meet in the Buglass Room, Leverstock Green Village Hall, on alternate Fridays between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. Meeting fees are £3.00 plus 50p for refreshments.
If you wish to be amazed and learn enough to astound your friends, we are a very supportive workshop, helping people to learn and improve both aspects of magic: their tricks and their performance. Whether you just wish to do some simple things for your grandchildren, or to square the circle for your local secret society, we can help.
You don’t need to call in advance and even if you just wish to watch, feel free to drop in.
